沸石滤料目前有两种：天然斜发沸石滤料和活化沸石滤料
1.天然斜发沸石滤料是铝硅酸盐类矿物，外观呈白色或砖红色，属弱酸性阳离子交换剂，具有离子交换或吸附能力，吸附容量大。主要用于中小型锅炉用水的软化处理，以除去水中的钙、镁离子，从而减少锅炉内水垢的生成，减轻水测金属的腐蚀，延长锅炉的使用寿命。在废水处理中，可用于除去水中的磷和铅以及六价铬。失效后的沸石可用于浓盐水逆流再生后重复使用。
2、活化沸石滤料经过多种特殊工艺活化而成，其吸附性能比天然沸石更强，离子交换性能也更好，不仅能去除水中的浊度、色度、异味，而且对水中有害的重金属及有机物等物质具有吸附交换作用，有利于去除水中各种微污染物且水浸出液不含有毒，有害人体物质，去除水中铁、氟效果更为显著。因此活化沸石是工业给水、废水处理及自来水过滤的新型理想滤料。
