周边传动吸泥机是给排水工程中使用较多的设备之一，主要用于大型辐流式初沉池与二沉池的排泥，特别适用于比重较轻的生物污泥的排除，对水流扰动极小，排泥效果好。更有泥量调节阀调节出泥量，适应各种条件下的正常出泥，也可采用虹吸来控制排泥量。工作原理：驱动装置推动工作桥沿池平面旋转，工作桥带动排泥槽旋转，固定于泥槽上的吸泥管在静水压力的作用下吸取池底的污泥，通过泥量调节阀调节，进入排泥槽，排泥槽中的污泥流入中心泥缸中，排出池外；也可通过虹吸作用将泥从排泥槽吸入中心泥缸中。驱动装置可设扭矩保护装置，工作更加安全。
