纤维滤料是由涤纶、丙纶或者腈纶丝扎结而成的球形滤料，具有弹性效果好，不上浮水面，空隙大，工作周期长，水头损失小等优点。广泛使用与各种水处理行业。
纤维球主要分为普通纤维球和改性纤维球。改性纤维球适用于油田含油污水的精细过滤，也适用于其它工业废水的精细过滤。改性纤维球去除油及有机物的机理为：直接拦截、惯性拦截和电化吸附。滤前水质含油≤15mg/L，悬浮物≤10mg/L；滤后水质含油≤5mg/L，悬浮物≤2mg/L。
纤维球是由纤维丝扎结而成的球形滤料，它与传统的钢性滤料相比，具有弹性效果好，不上浮水面，空隙大，工作周期长，水头损失小等优点。在过滤过程中，滤层空隙沿水流方向逐渐变小，比较符合理想滤料由上大下小的孔隙率分布，从而形成了滤速快，截污容量大，过滤效果好，可再生反复使用，不必全部更换，省时省力等优点。
纤维球滤料，可将不易沉淀去除的微小悬浮物截留。滤速比传统砂滤料高3.5倍，滤料能反洗再生，可实现自动化管理，一般滤速30m/h，粗滤进水100mg/l，出水SS≤5mg/l，精滤进水20mg/l，出水≤2mg/l。广泛应用于油田、化工、电力、冶金等行业的高标用水，循环，旁滤和废水回收利用。

纤维球用于油田、化工、电力、冶金等行业的高标用水、循环、旁滤和废水回收利用；纤维球用于油田含油污水的精细过滤；纤维球用于其它工业废水的精细过滤；纤维球用于油田、石化加工，印染等行业污水处理中。
由于纤维球为易燃品，在储存过程中应选用阴凉、远离火源处，定期对消防设施进行安全检查，以防止发生火灾。
纤维球在运输过程中，不得用铁钩拖拽，应防止与坚硬物质混装，不可强烈振动、磨擦、踩、砸，严禁抛掷，应轻装轻卸，以减少破碎，影响使用。
